Farmhouse Garage Addition – Phase 2

Back in September, I posted about Phase 1 of our garage addition. We completed phase 2 before winter; which included getting the structure sealed and weather-tight.

Today, I’ll document the journey of getting to that point.

Framing the second-story…

Framing the entrance to our new back entrance…

Deck boards were removed to prepare to raise the entire structure.

Framing the new mudroom…

Grading around the building…

Second-story walls are complete…

This space will be our new mudroom.

Our back entrance opens into a new space which connects to our mudroom, will have the door to the garage, and access to the stairs to the second-story.

Trusses and roof decking…

New roof…

Pouring the concrete apron at the garage entrance, new sidewalk, and back steps…

Garage doors were installed…

Installing soffit…

They installed the vinyl siding the hottest week of the summer!

Trent had a power pole removed and all the overhead wires buried.

All lit-up!

Exterior doors, windows, shutters, and gutters installed…

Here’s a look at the interior space at the end of phase 2.

Using our mudroom before it’s officially finished!

Since the first of the year, Trent has begun phase 3 – finishing the interior. He will work on it as he has time between jobs — we’re hoping to have it finished by the end of 2024. In the meantime, we’ll enjoy the attached garage!
